Beta PTE Compatibility

Our newest beta version of the Precision Test Environment (PTE) works with many more computers than the released PTE. This page summarizes the models and hardware we have and haven’t tested.

Please understand that new computers with new, untested hardware are being sold all the time, and that manufacturer and model names are not always consistent.

What if my computer isn't listed?

If your computer doesn’t appear below, try it out:

  1. Make sure it meets our basic computer requirements.
  2. Make sure that your computer’s data is backed up.
  3. Enter your T.O.V.A. serial number here to download the beta version of the software.
  4. Install the software and configure it for PTE.
  5. Test the PTE and plug in your T.O.V.A. flash drive to give us the most information.
  6. Whether it works or not, please send us a support request to let us know.

Call us for help with these steps.

Recommendations

The main targets of this new PTE are computers with 11th-gen Intel processors and/or Iris Xe graphics. (These processors will have “11” at the beginning of the processor identifier, such as “i7-1165G7”.) When we update our PTE, however, we often gain new compatibility with other hardware without special effort. Conversely, updates can sometimes break compatibility unintentionally.

So go ahead and install and test the beta version of the TOVA software on as many of you computers as possible, unless specifically excluded below.

  • ALWAYS back up your important files first.
  • ALWAYS keep your T.O.V.A. beta computers connected to the Internet, so we can alert you to computer hardware-specific issues, if we discover them.

Mac computers

This beta release is not recommended for Mac computers.
