On some computers, it can take several minutes to boot to the Precision Test Environment (PTE) and back. Some users would like to run two sessions in the same PTE session mode, without rebooting and saving between them.
First, we don’t recommend running two sessions back to back with the same subject. If more than one T.O.V.A. is being administered to the same person on the same day, please allow at least 90 minutes from the end of the first T.O.V.A. to the beginning of the next T.O.V.A.
Second, the T.O.V.A. device only has the storage capacity for a single T.O.V.A. test session. If you try to run a second T.O.V.A. test in the same session, you will overwrite the data from the first.
Finally, if you need to run sessions back to back for different subjects, and your computer’s process for booting the PTE is too slow to accommodate this, consider using the EAV setup. This requires setting up additional hardware, but afterward, there’s no rebooting necessary.
